In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Rapple” mean Rapple Products (Pty) Ltd. “You” means the person or business using this website or buying from us.

2. These terms

By using this website, opening an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We may change these terms. The version on this page when you place an order is the one that applies to that order. We will show the date it was last changed at the foot of the page.

If you buy on a trade account, the signed credit application and its terms also apply. Where the two documents disagree, the credit application wins on payment and credit matters.

Our invoices say that our terms and conditions apply to every order. This page is that document. Three other policies sit under it and form part of it: the Exchanges, Repairs, Refunds and Returns Policy, the Free Delivery Terms, and the Wahl warranty terms.

Signing the delivery note or waybill is taken as acceptance of these terms.

3. Who may buy from us

You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a contract. If you buy for a business, you confirm you are allowed to do so on its behalf.

Many of the products we sell are intended for trained professionals — hairdressers, barbers, beauty and spa therapists, and nail technicians. Some are sold only to the trade. We may decline or cancel an order for a professional-only product where we are not satisfied it is going to a professional.

You are responsible for keeping your account details and password safe, and for what happens under your login.

4. Products, pictures and descriptions

We describe our products as accurately as we can. Pictures are there to show you the product, and small differences in colour, packaging or formulation can occur, particularly when a manufacturer changes a pack.

Nothing on this website is professional, medical or cosmetic advice. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and carry out the patch tests and safety steps your training and the product require.

5. Prices

Prices are shown on the product page and confirmed at checkout, where the VAT treatment and any delivery charge are set out. Trade pricing is shown once you are logged in to an approved trade account.

Prices can change without notice, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted.

Mistakes happen. If a price is obviously wrong — a misplaced decimal, a product listed far below cost — we will contact you before dispatch and you may confirm the order at the corrected price or cancel it for a full refund. We will not simply charge you the higher amount.

A quotation is valid for 7 days from the date on it, unless the quote says otherwise. That is what our own quotes say, and after that we may need to re-check stock and pricing.

6. Orders

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract comes into being when we accept it, which we do when we confirm the order or dispatch the goods, whichever happens first. An automatic email saying we have received your order is not acceptance.

We may decline an order if the goods are out of stock, if we cannot verify your details, if there is a pricing error, or if the order is for a professional-only product and the checks in section 3 are not met. If we have taken payment, we refund it.

Stock shown on the website is our best view of availability and can be affected by sales in our showrooms.

7. Payment

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card details.

Orders are paid in full before delivery or collection, unless you have an approved trade account with agreed terms. Please use your salon or account name as the payment reference so we can match it to your order.

In our showrooms we take card. Cash deposits must be made by ATM. We do not accept cheques.

Trade accounts are payable on the terms in the signed credit application.

Goods remain our property until they are paid for in full. Risk passes to you on delivery or collection.

8. Delivery and collection

Delivery is covered by our Delivery Procedure, which forms part of these terms.

Order Collections (furniture): furniture orders are not available for same-day collection. Once your order is paid, please allow 24–48 hours (working days) for us to check the stock and to assemble and prepare your furniture. We will let you know when it is ready to collect from the showroom you chose, during opening hours.

Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Where a delay is ours, we will tell you and you may wait or cancel that part of the order.

Please check your goods as they arrive, before the driver leaves. Three things matter:

  • Check that the number of boxes matches the waybill.
  • Check the packaging for obvious damage.
  • Note any shortage or damage on the waybill, and tell us within 24 hours with photographs of the boxes.

We ask for 24 hours because that is the window the courier gives us to lodge a claim. If you miss it, talk to us anyway — a fault in the goods themselves is covered by section 9 and by the Consumer Protection Act, whatever the delivery paperwork says.

9. Returns, cancellations and refunds

Returns are covered in full by our Exchanges, Repairs, Refunds and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it before you return anything. In short:

  • Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods: we collect them and replace them, or refund you. Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, you choose between a repair, a replacement or a refund for six months after delivery. That right is not affected by anything else on this page.
  • Changed your mind: you have 7 business days from purchase or delivery. Goods must be unopened, unused, complete with manuals, in their original packaging and fit for resale, with a copy of the invoice. A 15% handling charge applies to correctly supplied in-stock goods, and the cost of getting them back to us is yours.
  • Cannot be returned unless faulty: opened goods or broken seals; cosmetics; body jewellery, earrings and piercing tools; manicure and pedicure tools; hair extensions, hairpieces, brushes and combs; clippers. Scissors and blades are not returnable at all — please inspect them when you buy.
  • Special and imported orders: we cannot take back specially ordered goods that were correctly supplied, and payments on custom or imported orders are not refundable once the order has been placed with the supplier.
  • Promotions: goods received as part of a deal must come back with the qualifying products.
  • Ask us first. Goods may not be sent back without authorisation, and a claim for defective goods must be in writing.

Refunds go back to the card used, to your account as a credit, or in cash. Where we arrange collection of a change-of-mind return, the collection cost comes off the refund. Third-party delivery charges are not refunded.

10. Equipment, furniture and warranties

Equipment and furniture carry the manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty period and what it covers are shown on the product page or the supplier’s documentation.

A warranty does not cover damage from misuse, incorrect voltage or power surges, unauthorised repair, ordinary wear, or use outside the manufacturer’s instructions.

Scissors are sold without a warranty. They are a cutting tool whose edge depends on how they are used, stored and serviced. If a pair reaches you faulty, that is a different thing and section 9 applies.

Wahl products carry their own warranty terms, which you will find with the three documents on the QR code on your invoice.

To claim, contact us in writing with your invoice number and a description of the fault. Do not send anything back before we have authorised it.

Faulty goods are generally dealt with in 48 to 72 hours. Where a unit has to go back to a local or overseas supplier, expect one to six weeks. If we assess a unit and the fault turns out not to be ours, a repair fee applies. Goods not collected within 7 days of being ready may attract a storage fee.

Nothing here takes away the implied warranty of quality that the Consumer Protection Act gives you.

11. Using this website

You may use this website to look at our range, place orders and manage your account. You may not copy our content for another business, scrape the site, resell our product photographs, interfere with the site, or try to reach parts of it you are not entitled to see.

We keep the site available as far as we reasonably can, but we do not promise it will never be offline.

12. Our content, and other people’s brands

The Rapple name, logo, site design, written descriptions and our own photographs belong to us. The brands we sell — and their names, logos and product images — belong to their owners and are used with their permission or as a retailer of their products.

13. Your personal information

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which follows POPIA. In short: we use your information to take and deliver your orders, to run your account, to meet our legal duties, and — where you have agreed — to send you marketing. You can ask us to stop marketing to you at any time.

14. What we are responsible for

We are responsible for supplying goods that match their description and are of good quality, and for the duties the Consumer Protection Act places on us. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, or our liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example lost profit, lost bookings or business interruption — and our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for the goods in question.

We are not liable for failures caused by events outside our control, such as load-shedding, strikes, floods, import delays or a courier’s failure, though we will always tell you what is happening and offer you a refund where we cannot deliver.

15. If something goes wrong

Please talk to us first — most things are sorted out the same day. Email info@rapple.co.za or phone the branch handling your order.

If we cannot sort it out between us, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission.

These terms are governed by South African law, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.

16. The rest

If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something immediately, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, your order and — for trade customers — the credit application are the whole agreement between us.
